Welcome to LaSalle Language Academy's Virtual Art Exhibition!

Normally, like in the past, we would have held our exhibition at the Leslie Wolfe Gallery within the Old Town Art Center. But this was not a normal school year, to say the least. However, we hope to continue that long tradition next school year. I would like to thank LaSalle parent, Erin Waser from the Fine Arts Committee, for making this virtual gallery happen. Without her assistance it would not have been possible.

Needless to say, this school year was a roller coaster ride and the coronavirus interrupted many amazing projects that were in process. The majority of the younger grades did not get to paint. 4th graders were unable to work with clay. Many 8th graders were almost finished with amazing collaborative projects that they had been working on for months. A few of these projects are highlighted in Gallery 8. With all that being said, a great amount of artistic endeavors were accomplished, which you will see within the virtual gallery.  A special highlight of this past school year was our partnership with "I Paint My Mind". Through their program, we were able to bring the artwork of Chicago-based printmaker, Jay Ryan, to the hallways of LaSalle! Our 5th graders participated in an in-depth printmaking unit revolving around the theme of "propaganda". The student artwork from that project is highlighted in Gallery 7. I hope you enjoy the amazing artwork of our talented students at LaSalle Language Academy. I look forward to working and growing artistically with everyone in the future.
